Pool Time

If you are wondering what the weather is like in the summer it’s humid!  The heat hasn’t been that bad, it rarely has gotten above 90 so far but the humidity is just awful. We are all sweating and sticky before we leave the apartment. So Maya and I are in need of a pool day.  There is a pool about a 10 minute walk away but I decided to be brave and take Maya about an hour away to a huge pool that we have been wanting to go to for awhile. Since it was a weekday, I figured it would be better to go than on a weekend.  I was right. It was pretty crowded for being 11 AM.  But that’s Korea for you, its crowded everywhere!

Surrounding the pool is a few places to get food and snacks.  If you happen to forget a towel or even a swimsuit there is a vendor selling anything and everything you could possibly need.   They even had umbrellas for you to use for free!  The only thing I thought was weird was that everybody had to wear swim caps or hats while in the pool.  Since I don’t know Korean I was never able to figure that one out. My best guess was that it was a hygiene issue, but who knows.  I don’t have pictures of Maya in the pool because I was the only one there to watch her but she had tons of fun. We spent about 2 hours there and she didn’t want to leave.

  1. WE are so glad to know that Maya loves going to the pool! GM enjoyed seeing the few pictures of Maya in her swimsuit. Keep making the most of your time there. Naturally, we are looking forward to seeing all of you back in Austin in a few weeks. GM & I will be in San Marcos, Texas on August 8, & 9th & 10th for the Catholic Life Ins. Convention at the Embassy Suites. You probably remember this place as we have stayed there before. GM will be a delegate from the Bay Area Branch # 129. She is the Secretary Treasurer of this branch and has done a great job too. The night before we leave, we’ll be at the 43th floor of the EXXON Bldg at the Petroleum Club’s Executive Ballroom for dinner and dance. Naturally, we are excited and looking forward to dancing high above the city of Houston in the downtown area. On Wednesday, 8/6/14 our line dance group from Madison Jobe Senior Center is schedule to perform at 10::00 am. at the Pasadena Convention Center.
We are now getting ready for our Ballroom dance class at El Franco Lee Senior Center that starts at 11:00 am. Our schedule continues to be fun & enjoyable. You should see our calendar. No complaints on our part as we continue to make the most of each and every day and still make time to stay in touch with family & friends. Thanks for doing the same!
Tell Maya that GM is really excited to know that all of you will be back in the states by September of this year. Please continue to keep us posted on your schedule so that we can make plans accordingly. We do appreciate all the blogs that you have made possible for all of us. Take care and know that we continue to keep all of you in our prayers.
